// CLOUD BACKUP
Cloud backup that just works
A secure, automatic, off-site copy of everything that matters — encrypted, versioned and stored safely away from your home or office, so a broken laptop, a stolen PC, an accidental delete or a ransomware attack can never wipe you out. Set up and quietly monitored for homes and small businesses across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset. Rated 4.9 on Google.
- ● Encrypted & off-site
- ● Automatic & versioned
- ● Ransomware-proof copies
Cloud backup is the simplest way to make sure a copy of your data is always somewhere safe — not on the desk that could be stolen, not on the drive that could fail, but encrypted and stored off-site, ready to bring back at a moment's notice. It runs quietly in the background, so the day a computer dies or a file vanishes, getting it back is a phone call, not a crisis.
This page is about the cloud copy specifically — what proper cloud backup is, why it is not the same as OneDrive or cloud sync, and how we set it up so it actually protects you. If you want the bigger picture of how cloud fits alongside local copies in a complete plan, see our Backup & Data Recovery page. We look after Windows and Android; we don't support Apple Mac, iPhone or iPad.
// WHAT WE COVER
Cloud Backup that just works
Encrypted & off-site
Your data is encrypted before it leaves your device and stored in a secure data centre — safe from theft, fire and flood at home or in the office.
Automatic & continuous
Backups run on their own, on a schedule or as files change. Nothing to remember, no drive to plug in — it simply keeps your off-site copy up to date.
Ransomware-proof versions
We keep multiple dated versions and immutable copies that ransomware can't reach in to encrypt or delete — so you can roll back to a clean point in time.
Restore from anywhere
Your cloud copy isn't tied to one machine. Replace a laptop, move house or work away, and we can pull your data back down wherever you are.
UK & EU data, GDPR-aware
We use reputable providers with data stored in the UK or EU, so your cloud backup helps you meet your data-protection obligations rather than complicate them.
Quietly monitored
We check your backups are actually running and complete — because a backup nobody checks is the one that lets you down when it counts.

// GOOD QUESTIONS
Frequently asked
Isn't OneDrive (or cloud sync) the same as cloud backup?
No — and this trips a lot of people up. Sync mirrors your files to the cloud, which means if a file is deleted, corrupted or encrypted by ransomware, that change syncs everywhere and the good copy is gone too. True cloud backup keeps separate, dated versions you can roll back to, independent of your live files. We often set up both: sync for convenience, cloud backup for genuine protection.
Is my data safe and private in the cloud?
Yes. Your data is encrypted on your device before it's sent and stays encrypted in storage, and we use reputable providers with data held in the UK or EU. That keeps it private and helps you meet your data-protection obligations — see our GDPR & IT compliance page for how that fits together.
How long does the first cloud backup take?
The very first upload is the big one — it can take a while on home broadband if you've got years of photos. After that, backups only send what's changed, so they're quick and run quietly in the background. For large amounts of data we can seed the first copy to speed things up.
Can I get my files back if my computer is lost, stolen or dies?
Absolutely — that's the whole point of an off-site copy. Because your cloud backup isn't tied to the broken or missing machine, we can restore your files (or a whole computer image) onto a replacement, wherever you are. If you've lost a device, see our lost-or-stolen-laptop guide too.
Do you back up Windows and Android, or Apple devices too?
We support Windows computers and Android phones and tablets. We don't support Apple Mac, iPhone or iPad, so we won't set up cloud backup on those — but we'll happily protect your Windows PCs, laptops, files and Microsoft 365.
Get a secure off-site copy in place
We'll set up encrypted, automatic cloud backup, handle the first upload, and quietly keep an eye on it — so your photos, files and Microsoft 365 are always safe, whatever happens to your computer.
