Most Outlook issues fall into a few familiar categories, and most are quick to resolve once you know where to look.
Not sending or receiving
This is usually a connection, password or large-attachment issue. Check you are online, that your password has not changed, and that your mailbox is not full.
Crashing, freezing or slow
An oversized mailbox, a faulty add-in or a corrupted profile are the usual causes. Archiving old mail, disabling add-ins or rebuilding the profile normally sorts it.
Key points
- Send/receive errors are often password or connection issues
- Keep your mailbox from getting too full
- Disable faulty add-ins if Outlook crashes
- A profile rebuild fixes many stubborn problems
