  • ● We always phone first — never cold pop-ups
  • ● Family-run since 1995 — same familiar faces
  • ● £18.25/month per computer, cancel anytime

Sound familiar?

You've become the family IT department — from 200 miles away

You know the routine. The phone rings on a Tuesday evening: the printer has stopped, an update has moved everything, or a worrying pop-up won't go away. You try to fix it blind — "click the little blue picture… no, the other one" — and twenty minutes later you're both frustrated and nothing is fixed.

It's stressful for you, and it's often worse for your mum or dad, who hates feeling like a burden. And between calls, you quietly worry: are the updates being done? Is anything actually backed up? Would they spot a scam?

That's the job we take off your hands.

What we do

A patient, local team who look after your parent's computer

365 Techies is a family-run team based at the Kinson Community Centre in Bournemouth. We've looked after local people's computers since 1995, we're rated 4.9 on Google, and we're a Microsoft Partner. Here's what your parent gets:

  • Remote fixes in minutes. Most problems are solved over a secure connection, usually the same day (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm). We always phone your parent first, they watch everything happen on their own screen, and our access ends the moment the session ends.
  • Home visits with a courtesy call. When a visit is needed, we come to them across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and Dorset — and we always call ahead with an ETA, so they know exactly who is coming and when.
  • The same familiar faces. No call centre, no scripts, no stranger every time. Your parent gets to know us by name — and we get to know their computer.
  • Backups that actually happen. We keep the computer updated and secure, and we send friendly SMS reminders about backups so nothing important is left to chance.
  • Plain English, endless patience. We explain things properly, at your parent's pace, without jargon — and we never, ever talk down to anyone.

How it works for you

Set it all up from anywhere — London, Leeds or Los Angeles

You don't need to be in Dorset. Everything can be arranged over the phone or by email, from wherever you live:

  1. Get in touch. Call 01202 775566 (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm), text 07520 615332 or use our contact form. Tell us a little about your mum or dad and their computer.
  2. Set up the plan from anywhere. Home IT support is £18.25 a month per computer on a simple rolling plan. You can set it up and pay on your parent's behalf, and cancel anytime — no minimum term, no tie-in.
  3. We introduce ourselves properly. A friendly, arranged first phone call or visit — never a surprise — so your parent knows exactly who we are before anything else happens.
  4. They call us instead of you. When something goes wrong, your parent rings a familiar local team. Most fixes happen remotely in minutes while they watch on screen; if a visit is needed, we call ahead with an ETA.
  5. You stay in the loop. With your parent's permission, we let you know when something genuinely matters — a repair, a recommendation, anything worth a family conversation. You're never left chasing updates.

That's it. You go back to being a son or daughter, and we'll be the IT department.

Trust & safety

Why parents feel safe with us — and why you can too

Trusting someone with your parents' computer is a big step, so here is exactly where we stand:

  • We phone first — always. We never connect to a computer out of the blue, and we never use scary pop-ups. If a cold caller ever claims to be "tech support", it isn't us.
  • Your parent watches everything. During a remote session, everything happens on their own screen, right in front of them — and our access ends when the session ends.
  • Family-run since 1995. More than three decades looking after Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and Dorset, rated 4.9 on Google.
  • Real people in a real place. We're based at the Kinson Community Centre in Bournemouth — your parent is welcome to come in and meet us.

We also help families stay scam-aware for free: our online safety course and scam-spotting quiz are open to everyone, and this website has an accessibility toolbar with bigger text, higher contrast and read-aloud to make reading easier for your parent.

Frequently asked

Can I set this up if I live in London — or abroad?

Yes — that's exactly what this page is for. Everything is arranged over the phone or by email, you pay the £18.25-a-month-per-computer plan from wherever you live, and we look after your mum or dad in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch or the wider Dorset area.

Will my parents be comfortable with someone on their computer?

We're very careful about this. We always phone first to arrange things — never cold pop-ups — and during a remote session your parent watches everything happen on their own screen. Our access ends when the session ends. And because they see the same familiar faces each time, we quickly stop being strangers.

How will I know what's going on?

With your parent's permission, we keep you in the loop whenever something matters — a repair, a replacement worth considering, or anything we think you'd want a say in. It's their computer, so it's always their say-so — but if they're happy for us to copy you in, we gladly will.

My mum uses an iPad — can you help with that?

We're honest about this: we specialise in Windows computers and Android phones and tablets, and we don't claim Apple expertise. If your mum's main computer is a Windows PC or laptop, we're a great fit; for Apple devices we'd suggest Apple's own support.

What does it cost, and is there a contract?

Home IT support is £18.25 per month per computer, on a rolling monthly plan you can cancel anytime — no minimum term, no tie-in, and we're not VAT registered, so there's no VAT added on top. If your parent needs Microsoft 365, that's £4.85 per user per month.

Can you teach my dad, not just fix things for him?

Gladly. Patient one-to-one tuition can be arranged on request, and we run real in-person group sessions at the Kinson Community Centre in Bournemouth — call us on 01202 775566 for the current timetable.

Ready to stop being the long-distance helpdesk?

Call 01202 775566 (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm) or text 07520 615332. Tell us a little about your mum or dad, and we'll arrange a friendly, unhurried introduction — never a surprise.
