/01 — WESTBOURNE COMPUTER REPAIR
Computer repair in Westbourne, Bournemouth
Need computer or laptop repair in Westbourne? 365 Techies is a family-run repair service that has been fixing computers since 1995, based a short drive away in Kinson — so we can often start remotely the same day, or collect your machine and bring it back once it’s working.
We help homes and small businesses right across Westbourne and the wider BH4 postcode, from the flats and villas near Alum Chine to the independent shops around Seamoor Road and the Victorian arcade. Most problems — a slow PC, a virus, email that won’t behave, a Windows update that broke something — we can sort over a secure remote connection while you watch. When the hardware itself needs attention, we come to you or collect from your door.
We are Windows and Android specialists. That means Windows laptops and desktops, and Android phones and tablets, are what we work on every day. We hold a 4.9-star Google rating and work on a straightforward no-fix-no-fee basis, so if we can’t help there’s nothing to pay. Call us on 01202 775566 and we’ll talk it through in plain English.
/02 — HOW IT WORKS
How our Westbourne repairs work
We don’t run a shop counter in Westbourne village — and that keeps our prices down. Instead you get one of three things, whichever suits the job best.
- Remote support, usually the same day. For anything software-related — a sluggish computer, pop-ups, a printer that won’t connect, or email and Microsoft 365 trouble — we connect securely over the internet and fix it while you watch. Nothing leaves your home.
- Collection and return. If the machine needs hands-on work, we’ll collect it from your door in Westbourne, fix it and drop it back — free collection, and we keep you posted.
- Home visits. When it’s easier to fix things in place — a desktop that’s awkward to move, a whole-house Wi-Fi problem, or setting up a new computer — we come to you.
You always speak to the same small, familiar team, we explain everything in plain English, and we ring before we connect or set off. If you’d rather book online, use our booking page and we’ll be in touch to arrange a time that suits you.
/03 — WHAT WE FIX
Common Westbourne computer problems we fix
After thirty years of repairs, there’s very little we haven’t seen. The jobs Westbourne customers ask us about most often are:
- Slow computers that take an age to start or freeze mid-task — often transformed by a clean-up or an SSD upgrade. See our guide to speeding up a slow PC.
- Viruses, pop-ups and scams — we handle virus removal and check nothing nasty has been left behind.
- Laptops that won’t turn on or show no lights at all, plus cracked or dim screens.
- Broken screens, keyboards, batteries and charging ports on Windows laptops.
- Lost files — our data recovery service tries to rescue photos and documents from a failing drive.
- New computer setup and upgrades, including moving everything across from an old machine.
We also help with Android phones and tablets — email setup, backups and general how-to. What we don’t do is Apple or Mac work, so if you have a MacBook or iPad we’ll say so honestly rather than fumble through it. For anything Windows or Android, though, you’re in experienced hands.
/04 — LOCAL TO WESTBOURNE
A local service that knows Westbourne
Westbourne has a character all of its own — the Grade II listed Victorian arcade built in the 1880s, the independent boutiques and cafes along Seamoor Road and Poole Road, and the leafy streets running down toward Alum Chine and the beach. It’s a village of long-standing residents and small independent businesses, and both tend to want the same thing from their computer help: someone reliable, patient and local who won’t talk down to them.
That’s the gap we fill. Being based in nearby Kinson, we’re close enough to pop over to Westbourne quickly, but we’re not a faceless national chain or an overseas call centre — you get the same familiar faces every time. A lot of our Westbourne work comes from older residents who want unhurried, jargon-free help, something we do a great deal of and genuinely enjoy. If that’s you or a relative, our page on computer help for older people explains how we keep things calm and simple.
We cover the surrounding areas too — see Bournemouth and Poole computer repair, or the full list of places we cover.
/05 — HONEST PRICING
Clear prices and no-fix-no-fee
Nobody likes a surprise bill. We agree what a job will cost before we start, and if we can’t fix your problem you don’t pay for the attempt — that’s our no-fix-no-fee promise. One-off repairs are charged simply and clearly.
If you’d rather not think about it again, our monthly support plans start at £18.25 a month per computer for homes and from £24.38 a month per computer for businesses, covering ongoing remote help and looking after your machine before things go wrong. Microsoft 365 is £4.85 per user, per month if you need it.
And if a computer really is beyond economic repair, we won’t push you into an expensive new one. We supply refurbished, business-grade Dell laptops and desktops from £545 — tidy, reliable machines with plenty of life left. A new computer setup includes 30 days of remote support to help you settle in, and we’ll move your files, email and favourites across for you.
/06 — WHEN TO CALL US
When to call us — and what to try first
Some things are worth a quick try before you call. If your computer is simply slow or misbehaving, a proper restart (Shut down, wait a few seconds, then power back on — not just closing the lid) clears a surprising number of glitches. If you think you’ve been scammed or picked up malware, disconnect from the internet and don’t type any more passwords until it’s been checked.
Call us straight away, though, if you see any of these:
- The laptop won’t power on, or you hear clicking or grinding from inside — that can mean a failing drive, so stop using it to protect your files.
- Liquid has been spilled on a laptop — unplug it, don’t switch it on, and let us look.
- You’ve lost photos or documents you can’t replace.
- A warning or ransom message is demanding money.
We’ll always give you an honest view on whether a machine is worth repairing. If a repair would cost more than the computer is worth, we’ll tell you plainly and talk through the sensible alternatives — no pressure, no jargon. To get started, call 01202 775566, text us on 07520 615332, or drop us a line.
/07 — HOMES & BUSINESSES
Help for Westbourne homes and small businesses
The mix of customers in Westbourne suits us well. On the residential side we look after families, retired couples and people working from home who just want their one computer to behave — and to have someone friendly to ring when it doesn’t.
On the business side, the village is full of independents: boutiques, salons, cafes, estate agents and professional practices around Poole Road and the arcade. For them a broken till PC, a dead printer or an email outage isn’t an inconvenience — it stops the day. We fix the immediate problem fast and, if it helps, keep things running smoothly afterwards with a simple support plan. You can also read about our IT support for Bournemouth businesses.
Whether it’s a single laptop at home or the computers behind a Westbourne shopfront, the approach is the same: turn up (or dial in) when we say we will, fix it properly, and explain it in words that make sense.

// GOOD QUESTIONS
Frequently asked
Do you have a computer shop in Westbourne?
No — and that’s deliberate. Rather than pay for a shopfront on Seamoor Road, we work from Kinson, a short drive away, which keeps our prices down. You get the best of both: same-day remote help for software problems, and doorstep collection or a home visit when the hardware needs hands-on work. You always deal with the same familiar, family-run team.
How quickly can you help someone in Westbourne?
For software issues we can usually connect remotely and start the same day, Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. For hardware that needs collecting or a home visit, we’ll arrange the earliest slot that suits you — and because we’re only in nearby Kinson, that’s rarely a long wait. We can’t promise a fixed time, but we’ll always be straight with you about when we can come.
Do you repair Apple Macs, MacBooks or iPhones?
No. We’re Windows and Android specialists, so we work on Windows laptops and desktops and Android phones and tablets every day — but we don’t take on Apple or Mac repairs. We’d rather tell you that honestly than do a half-hearted job on something outside our expertise. For anything Windows or Android in Westbourne, though, you’re in very experienced hands.
I don’t understand any of this — can you just sort it for me?
Absolutely — that’s exactly what we’re here for. You don’t need to know what’s wrong or use any jargon. Tell us what the computer is (or isn’t) doing in your own words, and we’ll take it from there: connect remotely, collect it, or pop over. We explain what we find in plain English and never make you feel daft for asking. Just call 01202 775566.
How much does a computer repair cost?
One-off repairs are quoted clearly before we begin, and our no-fix-no-fee promise means you don’t pay if we can’t solve the problem. If you’d prefer ongoing cover, home support starts at £18.25 a month per computer and business support from £24.38 a month per computer. And if a machine isn’t worth mending, we supply refurbished Dell computers from £510.
Can you recover photos or files I’ve lost?
Often, yes. If a drive is failing or files have been deleted, our data recovery service gives you the best chance of getting precious photos and documents back. The golden rule is to stop using the computer as soon as you notice — every extra bit of activity can overwrite what we’re trying to save. Bring it to us sooner rather than later.
Do you repair laptops as well as desktop PCs?
Yes — both. We handle Windows laptop repairs (screens, keyboards, batteries, charging ports and slow performance) and desktop PCs alike, at home, at your business, or in the van. We also upgrade older machines with faster drives and more memory, which can give a tired computer several more years of life for a fraction of the cost of replacing it.
Can you help an elderly relative in Westbourne?
Gladly. A lot of our Westbourne work is patient, unhurried help for older residents — whether that’s fixing a problem, setting up a new computer, or just showing someone how to do the things they want to do. We’re happy to arrange it with a family member and keep you in the loop. See computer help for older people for more.
Which areas near Westbourne do you cover?
All of them. As well as Westbourne (BH4) we cover Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the wider Dorset area with collection and home visits, plus remote support anywhere in the UK. See our Poole and Bournemouth pages, or the full areas we cover list, for your nearest option.
