Give mum or dad a year of friendly computer support

It's the present that makes every other gadget finally work. You set it up and pay — from anywhere — and your mum or dad gets patient, local help from the same friendly faces all year. Rated 4.9 on Google.

  • ● £18.25 a month per computer
  • ● Same familiar local faces
  • ● We phone first, never pop-ups

Why this gift

Better than another gadget

Most presents for older parents add something new to learn. This one does the opposite: it makes everything they already own work properly — the laptop, the printer that never prints, the email that stopped syncing, the tablet gathering dust in a drawer.

  • It ends the family helpdesk. No more talking dad through settings over the phone on a Sunday evening. When something goes wrong, they call us instead — and your visits go back to being visits.
  • It lasts all year, not one afternoon. A gadget gets opened once. Support is there every single time something confusing pops up.
  • It's the same friendly faces. Your parents deal with the same small, family-run local team every time — never a call centre, never a stranger.

There's no voucher or gift card to buy, because none is needed. Our home support plan is a simple rolling subscription: £18.25 a month per computer, cancel anytime, and we're not VAT registered so that's the full price. A "year of support" is simply twelve months you choose to pay for — a birthday, Christmas or just-because present that keeps working long after the wrapping paper has gone.

Setting it up

How it works — you can arrange it from anywhere

You don't need to live in Dorset — you can arrange everything from wherever you are, by phone or online. Here's how it goes:

  1. Get in touch. Call us on 01202 775566 (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm), text 07520 615332, or set it up online from wherever you are.
  2. Tell us about your mum or dad. What computer they have, what they use it for, and anything they find worrying — no detail is too small.
  3. We introduce ourselves gently. A friendly first phone call, in plain English, at a pace that suits them. No jargon, no rushing, no talking down.
  4. You stay in the loop. You set up and pay the monthly plan; we keep you posted, so you always know they're looked after.

From then on, when anything plays up, your parent simply rings the number by their computer. Most problems are fixed remotely in minutes — and we always phone first before connecting, so they know it's really us. They watch everything happen on their own screen, and our access ends the moment the session does.

What's included

What mum or dad actually gets

  • Help that phones first. We never connect out of the blue and there are no scary pop-ups. We ring, they answer, and they can see everything we do on their screen.
  • Fast remote fixes. Most problems are sorted in minutes over a secure remote session, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
  • Home visits when needed. Across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the rest of Dorset — and we always call with an arrival time first, so nobody is left waiting by the door.
  • The same familiar faces. A small family-run team, going since 1995 and rated 4.9 on Google. Your parents will get to know us by name.
  • Backup reminders by text. A friendly SMS nudge so precious photos and documents stay safe.
  • Patient 1-to-1 tuition, arranged on request. If they'd like to learn — video calls, email, online shopping — we teach at their pace. We also run real group classes at the Kinson Community Centre in Bournemouth; call for the current timetable.

There are free extras too: our online safety course, a scam-spotting quiz, and an accessibility toolbar on this website with bigger text, higher contrast and read-aloud — all made with older users in mind.

An honest comparison

Local faces, not a national call queue

There are national, remote-only tech support services, and for some families they work well. We'd rather be honest about the difference than pretend they don't exist.

  • Local, and in person when it matters. Some problems — a new router, a stubborn printer, a computer that won't switch on — need someone at the door. We're based at the Kinson Community Centre in Bournemouth and visit homes across Dorset.
  • The same people every time. Your parents won't have to repeat their story to a different stranger on every call. Familiarity is half the reassurance.
  • Built for older users. Patient, plain-English help is our everyday work, not a special request.

One thing we're upfront about: we specialise in Windows computers and Android phones and tablets. If your parents are all-Apple, we may not be the right fit — and we'll say so rather than take your money.

// GOOD QUESTIONS

Frequently asked

Is there an actual gift voucher I can buy?

No — and that's deliberate. The plan is a simple rolling monthly subscription at £18.25 per computer, so there's nothing to buy or redeem. You set it up in your name, pay monthly for as long as you like, and twelve months makes a lovely "year of support". You can even time the first month to start on a birthday or at Christmas.

Can I set it up and pay if I live miles away?

Yes. You can arrange everything by phone or online from wherever you live — you don't need to be anywhere near Dorset. You pay the monthly plan, and your mum or dad gets the help. We'll keep you in the loop so you always know how things are going.

How much does it cost, honestly?

£18.25 a month per computer, rolling monthly, cancel anytime. We're not VAT registered, so there's nothing added on top. Patient one-to-one tuition is arranged separately on request — just ask when you call.

My parents are wary of anyone getting into their computer. How do you handle that?

Very carefully — and that wariness is healthy. We always phone first before connecting, so they know it's really us and never a cold pop-up. They watch everything we do on their own screen, and our access ends completely when the session ends. Nothing happens behind their back.

Do you visit in person, or is it all done remotely?

Both. Most fixes are done remotely in minutes, which saves everyone waiting in. When a visit is needed, we come to homes across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and Dorset — and we always ring ahead with an arrival time.

They have an iPad and a Mac — can you still help?

We're honest about this: we specialise in Windows computers and Android phones and tablets, and we don't claim Apple expertise we don't have. If your parents are mostly on Apple devices, we may not be the right fit — and we'll tell you so rather than take your money.
