Home Network Setup

Home Network Setup, done properly

We plan and build your whole home network from the broadband socket out — router, wired connections, wireless layout and every device connected, named and secured. One tidy, reliable network you never have to think about again. Rated 4.9 on Google.

  • ● Router & broadband configured
  • ● Every device connected
  • ● Secured from day one

A home network is everything in your house that talks to the internet and to each other — your broadband router, your computers, printer, phones and tablets, smart TVs, streaming sticks and any smart-home gadgets. When it's set up properly, it just works: every room has signal, every device is connected, files and printers are shared where you want them, and the whole thing is locked down against outsiders. When it isn't, you get a tangle of half-connected kit, a printer nobody can find, a password taped to the router and a nagging worry about who else can get in.

365 Techies has been setting up home networks across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the wider Dorset and New Forest area since 1995. We come to you (or work remotely where we can), do the whole job end to end, and leave you with a written note of how it all fits together. No jargon, no half-finished setup — a network that's solid from the first day. If your Wi-Fi already exists but has dead spots or runs slowly, that's a slightly different job — see our Wi-Fi support page.

// WHAT WE COVER

Home Network Setup that just works

Router & broadband

We set up your broadband router or ISP gateway correctly — connecting it to your line, naming your network, choosing the right channels and bands, and putting it where it'll perform best in your home.

Wired & wireless layout

We plan how the network reaches each room — Wi-Fi, mesh nodes or a wired connection to a desk, TV or office. The right mix of cable and wireless so the things that matter most stay rock-solid.

Every device connected

PCs and laptops, your printer, phones and tablets, smart TVs and streaming sticks, games consoles and smart-home gadgets — we connect them all, name them sensibly and make sure they stay connected.

Secured from day one

A strong, unique admin password, modern WPA2/WPA3 encryption, the router firewall switched on and risky features turned off. We close the doors that come open by default on most home routers.

Guest & family controls

A separate guest network for visitors and smart gadgets, plus optional parental controls and content filtering so children and grandchildren can get online safely on their own devices.

Sharing that works

File sharing between your Windows PCs, a shared printer the whole house can reach, and network storage set up if you have it — so documents and photos are where everyone expects them.

// HOW IT WORKS

Simple, honest, sorted

  1. 01

    We look at what you've got

    A quick chat about your home, your broadband, the devices you use and the rooms that matter. We spot the weak points before we touch anything and agree exactly what good looks like for you.

  2. 02

    We build & connect it

    We configure the router, lay out the Wi-Fi and any wired runs, connect every device and set up sharing, guest access and parental controls — testing in the actual rooms you use, not just next to the router.

  3. 03

    We secure it & hand over

    We lock the network down, write down your network name and passwords somewhere safe, and walk you through it in plain English. Add monthly support and we'll keep an eye on it for you.

// GOOD QUESTIONS

Frequently asked

What exactly counts as a home network?

It's everything in your home that connects to the internet and to each other — your broadband router, computers, printer, phones and tablets, smart TVs and streaming sticks, plus any smart-home devices. Home network setup means getting all of that working together reliably and securely on one tidy, well-organised network.

Do you come to my house or do it remotely?

Both, depending on the job. A brand-new network — new router, wired runs, devices to physically connect — is usually best done on-site, and we cover Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the wider Dorset and New Forest area. Smaller changes and follow-up tweaks we can often handle remotely. We'll tell you honestly which makes sense for you.

I've just moved house or changed broadband — can you set it all up?

Yes, that's one of the most common reasons people call us. We'll get your new line and router working, reconnect every device, carry over your network name and passwords if you'd like, and make sure everything's secure in your new home before we leave.

My Wi-Fi reaches some rooms but not others — is that this service?

That's more of a coverage and speed job, which we cover on our Wi-Fi support page — fixing dead zones, dropouts and slow spots, often with a mesh system. Home network setup is about building or rebuilding the whole network from scratch and connecting everything to it. If you're not sure which you need, just ask and we'll point you the right way.

How much does home network setup cost?

It depends on the size of your home and how many devices need connecting, so we give you a clear quote up front with no surprises. Many of our customers fold network setup and ongoing help into a home IT support plan from £18.25 a month per computer. Get in touch and we'll talk you through the options.
