Most modern printers connect over Wi-Fi, so there are no cables to worry about beyond the power lead. Have your Wi-Fi password handy and you are most of the way there.
Get it ready, then connect
Unbox it, load some paper and fit the ink or toner, then switch it on. Using the printer’s own screen or its app, connect it to your home Wi-Fi. Then on your PC go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners, click Add device, and pick your printer from the list.
Finish up and test
If Windows asks to install the maker’s app or driver, let it — it unlocks scanning and ink-level features. Print a test page to check it works, and set it as your default printer if it is the one you use most.
