Every phone is slightly different, but they all follow the same friendly pattern — and you usually only need your email address and password.
Adding your account
Open the Mail app (or the Outlook app, which we often recommend) and choose Add account. Pick your email type — Outlook/Microsoft, Gmail, or ‘Other’ — then enter your email address and password. If your account uses two-factor authentication (and it should), approve the prompt on your other device.
Finishing up
Give it a moment to download your messages, then add a signature if you like. If it won’t connect, the password or account type is the usual culprit — or we’ll happily set it up for you as part of email support.
Key points
- Open the Mail or Outlook app on your phone
- Choose Add account
- Pick your email type (Outlook, Gmail or Other)
- Enter your email address and password
- Approve any two-factor security prompt
- Wait for your messages to download
- Add a signature if you like
