The warning signs
Unexpected messages, pressure to act now, requests for passwords or payment, slightly wrong web addresses, and poor spelling are all red flags. Banks and genuine companies never ask for your full password or PIN.
Simple habits that protect you
Never click links in unexpected messages — go to the website directly. Use strong, unique passwords and turn on two-factor authentication. And if you are ever unsure, ask before you click.
