Never left a Google review before? Here’s exactly what happens

Plenty of people have never written one, and there’s nothing obvious about it. Here is the whole process, honestly, with no surprises.

1. You press the button above. A Google page opens showing our name, 365 Techies, and a row of five stars.
2. You’ll need to be signed in to a Google account. If you use Gmail, or an Android phone, you already have one — it may sign you in automatically. If it asks you to sign in, that’s Google checking you’re a real person, not us asking for anything.
3. Tap the number of stars you think we deserve. Five stars is the top.
4. Write a line or two in the box. It genuinely doesn’t need to be long — “Steve sorted my laptop the same day and explained everything clearly” is a perfect review.
5. Press Post. It appears on our Google listing within a few minutes. Your first name and Google profile picture show alongside it.

Then honestly, don’t worry about it — please don’t go creating one just for us. Google reviews can only be left by people with a Google account, and that’s their rule, not ours.

If you’d still like to say something kind, you’re very welcome to leave a recommendation on our Facebook page, or simply ring us on 01202 775566 and tell us. It won’t appear on Google, but it means a great deal to hear it.

Why we ask — the honest version

We don’t advertise much. Most of our customers come from someone recommending us, or from finding us on Google when their computer has gone wrong. When somebody in Wimborne or Blandford searches for computer help at nine o’clock at night, what decides whether they find us is largely what other local people have said.

So a review from you genuinely helps a stranger find a firm that will answer the phone. That’s the whole of it.

We read every single one — both of us. And we’d rather have an honest three stars telling us where we fell short than a polite five that doesn’t help us improve. We never offer anything in return for a review, because paying for reviews is both against Google’s rules and unlawful in the UK — and because a review you were paid for isn’t worth reading.

Please tell us before anything else. Ring 01202 775566 or drop us a line and we’ll put it right — that’s the point of using a small family firm rather than a call centre. You’re still welcome to leave whatever review you think is fair afterwards; we’d just rather fix the problem first.
