/01 — HOW IT WORKS

Secure help, on your screen

When you need help, you download our small support tool, open it and read us the 9-digit code it shows. That connects us to your screen so we can see exactly what you see and fix it there and then.

You watch the whole session and stay in control — and the moment we finish, access ends automatically. It’s a fast, safe way to solve many IT problems.

New to us? A senior techie connects first to confirm what’s needed, then agrees the cost with you before any chargeable work — remote fixes start from £20. Already on a monthly plan? Remote support is included, with priority — just call, and if we don’t answer, leave a message and we’ll call you back.

// GOOD QUESTIONS

Frequently asked

Do you provide remote IT support across the whole of the UK?

Yes — we’re based in Dorset, but remote support isn’t limited by distance. We help homes and businesses anywhere in the UK over a secure, encrypted Splashtop SOS connection, and we can often fix the problem without a visit. For hands-on hardware work we also visit on-site — see our IT support across Dorset for every town we cover.

Is remote support safe?

Yes. Sessions run over Splashtop SOS — an encrypted, industry-standard remote support tool. You watch everything on screen and access ends the moment the session is over.

What can be fixed remotely?

Most things: email problems, software issues, Microsoft 365, slow computers, printer setup and Windows updates. Even a scare like OneDrive files that have vanished, and general troubleshooting for home and business users.

How fast is it?

Most remote sessions start within minutes during opening hours (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm). Subscribers always jump the queue.

How much does a remote fix cost?

Remote fix jobs are priced on difficulty and the time they take, starting from £20. A senior techie connects first to confirm what’s needed and agrees the price with you before any chargeable work. Every pay-as-you-go job also includes 30 days’ follow-up remote support and a health check at 30 days. As an example, a full Windows clean install with all your data backed up and restored (about 4 hours) is £149. On a monthly plan your computer is kept maintained and running, with priority support included and any fault work discounted — our customer loyalty promise. On a business plan, remote fixes are included.

Will you connect to my computer without warning?

No — we always phone you first to say we’re ready and to check you’re ready before we connect. We never connect out of the blue, and a session can only start when you open our support tool and read us its code.

Should I let someone remote into my computer?

Only when you trust them and you started it. A genuine session (like ours over Splashtop SOS) only begins when you click a link you asked for, and we always phone first to check you’re ready. If someone rings out of the blue claiming to be Microsoft, BT or your bank and asks for remote access, hang up — that’s a scam. See our Spot the Scam guide.

What if it can’t be fixed remotely?

Some jobs need hands-on work — a failing drive, a cracked screen or a machine that won’t power on. If so, we’ll either collect your computer or laptop or come to you on-site, and either way you’re quoted for the work before we start. For an on-site call-out we arrange the day and time with you first and phone ahead with an ETA — we never just turn up. We cover Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and across Dorset.

// HOW WE LOOK AFTER YOU

Looked after at every step

  • We call before we connect

Before any remote session or full computer service, we phone you first to check you’re ready — we never connect out of the blue.

  • The same friendly faces

Because we’re a family team, you deal with people who get to know you. We remember how you like your computer set up, especially as we service it every six weeks.

  • We call when we’re on our way

For home and business visits we phone ahead to say we’re on our way and give you an estimated arrival time — so you know exactly when to expect us.
