How quickly can you remove a virus?

Often the same day. Most infections we can clear remotely over Splashtop SOS within a couple of hours of you calling. If the machine is too unstable to connect to, we'll arrange a quick collection or a home visit across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset.

I've got a pop-up saying my computer is infected and to call a number — is it real?

Almost certainly not. Genuine virus warnings don't tell you to phone a number or pay over the phone — that's a classic scam (Action Fraud and the NCSC both warn about it). Don't call the number, don't let anyone you didn't contact take control of your PC, and don't pay. Close the page if you can, or just ring us on 01202 775566 and we'll check it properly.

Will I lose my files, photos or documents?

Usually not. Our aim is always to clean the device and keep your data intact. In rare cases where an infection has caused real damage, we'll talk you through your options first — and if you're on one of our plans your files are backed up anyway. We never wipe anything without your say-so.

Do you remove malware from Android phones and tablets too?

Yes. We clean up dodgy apps, malware and aggressive adware on Android devices as well as Windows PCs and laptops. Please note we don't support Apple Mac, iPhone or iPad.
