Windows 10 reached the end of free support on 14 October 2025, so most people in Poole and Bournemouth are now weighing up a move to Windows 11. We take the whole job off your hands and do it the right way — no rushing, no lost files, no nasty surprises.
Every Windows 11 upgrade we do includes:
- A free compatibility check — we run Microsoft’s PC Health Check and confirm the things that trip most PCs up: TPM 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot, a supported 64-bit processor, and enough RAM and storage (Windows 11 needs at least 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage). Often TPM and Secure Boot are simply switched off in the BIOS/UEFI and we can turn them on for you.

- The upgrade itself — either an in-place upgrade (keeping your apps, files and settings) or, where a machine will benefit from a fresh start, a clean install with everything moved across afterwards.

/02 — IN-PLACE UPGRADE OR CLEAN INSTALL
Which upgrade is right for your PC?
There are two honest ways to get to Windows 11, and we’ll recommend the one that suits your machine — not the one that’s quickest for us.
In-place upgrade is the usual choice. Windows 11 installs over the top of Windows 10 and keeps your programs, files and settings exactly as they were. It’s the least disruptive option and right for most PCs that are running well and just need to move up a version.
Clean install wipes the machine and sets Windows 11 up fresh, then we move your files and reinstall your programs. It takes a little longer but it’s the better call for an older PC that’s become slow, cluttered or unreliable — you get the speed of a brand-new machine on the hardware you already own. If your PC is a good business-grade Dell or a well-specced desktop, a clean install can genuinely give it a new lease of life.

/03 — IF YOUR PC CAN'T RUN WINDOWS 11
Can't upgrade? You still have good options
Some perfectly usable PCs simply don’t meet Microsoft’s Windows 11 requirements — usually an older processor that isn’t on the supported list, or missing TPM 2.0 that can’t be enabled. If that’s your machine, don’t panic and please don’t rush out and buy the first laptop you see. You have two sensible routes, and we’ll help you pick.
- Stay on Windows 10 a little longer with ESU. Microsoft’s consumer Extended Security Updates programme keeps security patches coming until 12 October 2027, and you can enrol free using a Microsoft account (or 1,000 Rewards points), or pay a one-off fee of roughly £23 (a single $30 charge). It buys breathing room to plan a replacement properly. We can set this up for you — see our Windows 10 ESU enrolment help if the ‘Enrol now’ button won’t appear.
- Move to a refurbished business-grade Dell from £510. We supply properly refurbished Dell Latitude laptops and OptiPlex desktops — solid, business-class machines that run Windows 11 comfortably — set up, your files moved across, and your old PC securely wiped and recycled. It’s often far better value than a cheap new laptop.

Is it safe to stay on Windows 10?

The safest move is to upgrade to Windows 11 if your PC is eligible. If it isn’t, you can stay on Windows 10 more safely for a while by enrolling in consumer ESU (Extended Security Updates), which extends security patches until 12 October 2027. We can set that up for you.
Will I lose my files, photos or programs when I upgrade to Windows 11?
No. We always take a full backup before we start, and an in-place upgrade keeps your files, apps and settings exactly where they are. Even with a clean install we move everything across afterwards. Your data is never put at risk — that’s the whole point of doing it properly rather than clicking ‘upgrade’ and hoping.

The upgrade itself is a clear fixed price we quote before any work begins, depending on whether you need a straightforward in-place upgrade or a clean install with file transfer. My PC says it isn't compatible with Windows 11 — is that final?
Not always. The most common blockers — TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot — are often just switched off in the BIOS/UEFI, and we can enable them for you, which makes an ‘incompatible’ PC eligible.
