// BEFORE YOU ASK

Work out 5 numbers before you get an IT quote

Before you ask any IT company for a quote, it helps to know a few basics about your setup. Jot these down (or print this page) and you’ll get a faster, fairer quote from anyone — us included.

  • ● Print-friendly
  • ● Vendor-neutral
  • ● 2 minutes

Knowing these makes any quote quicker and more accurate — and helps you compare companies fairly.

The 5 numbers to work out

  1. How many devices? Count the computers, laptops, tablets and phones you’d want covered. — __________
  2. How many people? Just you, the family, or a team. — __________
  3. What do you rely on most? e.g. email, Microsoft 365, accounts software, a website. — __________
  4. What do you spend on IT now? Roughly, per month or per year (repairs, software, support). — __________
  5. What’s your biggest worry? e.g. losing data, scams, slow computers, downtime. — __________

Two more worth knowing

  • Do you have working, tested backups? — Yes / No / Not sure
  • Are you tied into a contract now? — and when does it end?

That’s it — with those, anyone can give you a sensible quote. When you’re ready, get a free quick quote or try the Plan Finder.
